Power Semiconductor Testers

Over the last 20 years there has been a revolution in power semiconductors. MOSFETs, IGBTs, bipolar power transistors, (avalanche) power diodes etc.
are more and more used in everyday applications.

- Power supplies in consumer electronics, household appliances, computers, . . . are nowadays switch mode supplies
with additional power factor correction.
- Even small 3phase AC motors are equipped with inverters. The power stage of those inverters is usually made
of 6 power MOSFETs or IGBTs.
- The demand of power semiconductors in the automotive area is rapidly increasing. Not only the alternator
contains at least 6 (avalanche) rectifier diodes and a switch mode regulator for the exciter field.
More and more functions are implemented with power electronics to increase comfort and to save fuel.
Examples are power steering, cooling water pumps,
the wide area of X-by-wire technology, starter generators, Hybrid cars and many more.
To ensure the necessary (and even increasing) quality, extensive testing is necessary. MRS electronic have been developing and producing power semiconductor testers since
